Lecture on Safety Precautions and Emergency Rescue

To promote the knowledge on emergency rescue and enhance self-protection awareness of all students and staff, Office of Student Affairs, together with Office of Campus Development and Management, held a lecture on Safety Precaution and Emergency Rescue on May 24 at the multifunction room at the Residential College. More than 50 students and staff attended the lecture.

Ling Yangqing, senior lecturer from Haining Red Cross with rich experience in emergency rescue, was invited as the speaker of this lecture. The activity also provided various handouts relating to the lecture, including Emergency Rescue Training Manual and Red Cross Introduction Manual, to help the audience understand the lecture more directly and easily.

This lecture included the theoretical knowledge explanation and actual practice part. During the first part, the lecturer made a specific introduction on injury identifying, trauma nursing, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and demonstrated the standard process of CPR in various situations. During the actual practice part, students and staff used the model of human body to practice the CPR process with patient guidance of Lecturer Ling. Furthermore, Lecturer Ling made a conclusion on common problems occurred in the practice part and answered questions put forward by students and staff.

The lecture enhances emergency rescue awareness, especially the importance of Gold Four Minutes.  was widely acclaimed by students and staff. There will be more lectures relating to healthcare and personal safety with different topics in the future.
