From December 4th to December 10th, 2017, the Student Union of International Campus, Residential College Student Committee and Campus Canteen organized two theme events, "Warm Winter Rights and Services Week” and “Back of House Tour”, to bring students much joy and fun in this freezing winter.
The “Rights and Services Week” was initiated by Rights and Services Department, Student Union. After collecting the opinions from students, four most popular dishes were finally selected. They were on sale from Monday to Thursday during the Rights and Services Week. This event provided a large discount and delicious dishes and won wide praise of students. The Rights and Services Department also took this opportunity to collect students’ opinions and suggestions for Campus Canteen, enabled the canteen to further understand the needs and preferences of students and provide more caring services.
“Back of House Tour” was carried out on Saturday, December 9th. Students visited the cutting area, cooking area, rice producing line, Chinese and Western food making area and dishwashing line under the guidance of the manager of Campus Canteen. The kitchen is clean, tidy with well-organized shelves; Steamed Rice production line can supply all the Steamed Rice for all the students and faculty of International Campus, which astonished the visiting students. The restaurant is managed strictly in accordance with the requirements of the ISO22000 system, keep the healthy diet standard tightly and guarantee the diet of the students from the details.
At the end of the tour, the manager of Campus Canteen carried out a small table forum and listen to the students’ opinions about the future of the canteen. This kind of activity is expected to be organized more frequently to enable more students to understand catering services, enhance mutual communication and provide better services for students and faculty.
