Fire Simulation Exercise Carried out on International Campus

05/17/2019

May 14 and 15 witnessed a simulated fire evacuation drill on the International Campus. More than 800 people, including faculty, staff and students of International Campus, and employees of logistic service units, participated in this drill which took place inside two inflatable fire-training simulators.

The fire-fighting training scenario was carried out in a burning building simulator, while smoke-filled darkness was realistically created in a second simulator, designed for escape scenarios.

After experiencing the immersive simulated fire and smoke scenarios, teachers and students made positive comments, for example, “It’s very effective. It’s like we are in a real fire scenario. The instruction is easy to understand and professional.” “I think this drill is very important, although it’s dark inside the smoke experience simulator and I felt a little panic, this helps us really understand how to escape, which is helpful.” a PIEGL student added.
